Idan was born in Amsterdam where, over the years, he developed a slight obsession with drama, photography & movies which led to an early decision to get involved in the art of filmmaking.  After high school, some extensive traveling and a couple of short film studies in Auckland and Amsterdam he started his Bachelor of Fine Arts specializing in Cinematography at the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema & Sound (RITCS) in Brussels, Belgium, from which he graduated in 2019. He did his traineeship at Richard van Oosterhout, NSC, SBC and shot his graduation short film “Chimère” together with fellow RITCS student Robin de Cock.
